Best Players Available after the 1st Round

Joey Porter Jr. Cornerback Penn St. – The #2 Corner overall and 12th overall player entering the 2023 NFL Draft with an NFL pedigree, plenty of size and tons of experience over the course of the last 3 seasons. Porter Jr. doesn’t have tons of big splash plays but he plays with aggressiveness while defending receivers, and likes to use his size to his advantage. Was flagged a ton in college more often than you may like to see, but college football favors receivers the way the NFL protects their quarterbacks.

Brian Branch Safety Alabama – A leader on the Alabama defense over the course of the last 2 seasons and a multi-tool player in the secondary, Branch (#1 Safety and 17th overall player), can line up outside, nickel, or dropped back at safety. His versatility sets him apart from the other safeties in the class and is in a tier of his own and the last top tier defensive back in the class alongside Joey Porter Jr. to remain until day 2.

Luke Musgrave Tight End Oregon St. – Musgrave (TE2 ; 19 Overall) presents the highest bust potential of any player inside the top 20, as he has been limited over the last 3 seasons with Oregon State. But watching him move at his size with his athleticism, still molding his game and route running as a receiver he is oozing of upside. He blocks as well as any tight end in the draft, holding his own versus Kayvon Thibideaux in 2021 when asked upon presents an upside to be an elite level tight end with more experience.
